Covid 19

HOW SENSE IS RESPONDING

TO COVID19

The safety of Sense employees is our highest priority. We closely follow guidance from health authorities to protect the health and safety of employees across offices, laundry production, distribution facilities and cleaning services.

PROTECTING EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Upon entering Sense premises our employees are sprayed with disinfectant, their temperature measured and they are provided with a clean face mask and a bottle of hand sanitizer. Everybody without exception must wear masks and carry with them a hand sanitizer at all times. The higher the risk area - for example washers in our laundry - the more stringent our requirements with additional PPE to protect the employee’s eyes, mouth, nose and hands.

Health & Safety Awareness

Since the coronavirus outbreak began we have reinforced hygiene and exposure guidelines with our employees. In addition to training on housekeeping, laundry and hygiene protocols, all our employees are also completing enhanced COVID-19 awareness training. We no longer conduct face-to-face classroom sessions but have intensified training through our online educational platform.

Employee Illness Response Plan

If we become aware that an employee is ill or had direct or indirect contact with someone with COVID-19, we will immediately implement our isolation and sanitization protocols and will begin any necessary quarantines of that particular employee and all other team members the employee has been working with. We will bring in a whole new team to ensure service to our clients continues safely and efficiently.

In line with recommendations to reduce large gatherings and increase social distancing, Sense has asked our office-based employees to work remotely. For those that do require to work from the office, this is done on a reduced and where possible alternate schedule to mitigate risks.

Work From Home

SAFETY IN LAUNDRY FACILITIES

Our laundry operations continue to operate but we have adjusted their ways of working to protect everyone’s safety and well-being

Cleaning

Since the coronavirus outbreak began, we have implemented a Cleaning & Disinfection schedule that includes daily disinfection of walls, floors and equipment and a thorough disinfectant fogging treatment every two days. We have implemented additional cleaning and sanitization routines, with all hard surfaces touching soiled and clean linens disinfected regularly during operations with an EPA ( U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) registered Covid-19 killing disinfectant.

Laundry Transportation

Our trucks are disinfected prior to and after transportation. Laundry, whether it is personal clothing, uniforms or bedsheets, is bagged at the point of use and placed into soluble bags. We have developed a system and detergent formula whereby soiled laundry is directly transported to the washer and bags only opened when laundry is washed.

Laundry Production

Our facility takes steps to ensure that the routes that our soiled and clean laundry take do not cross paths at any point. We have clear separate areas to handle soiled and clean linen with barriers including disinfecting cabins to safeguard from cross-contamination.

Clean linen is immediately hygienically packed and stored in disinfected carts ready for quick distribution to prevent inadvertent contamination during storage.

ONSITE CLEANING SERVICES

Sense is very focused on ensuring our products and services are delivered safely to our customers while taking every precaution to protect our employees’ well-being. We have re-designed our Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) in our residential as well as our hotel cleaning division to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and public area cleaning procedures. Specific steps Sense is undertaking:

Cleaning Products

We provide premium cleaning resources, which are EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) registered Covid-19 killing disinfectant and a solution to the dilemma of how to protect our children, employees and families from infectious disease without exposing them to toxic chemicals

Cleaning Protocols

We use the latest cleaning equipment and best practices and make sure our team are well trained in up-to-date cleaning methods. Our protocols follow guidelines by WHO (World Health Organization) and CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is the leading national public health institute of the United States) whilst carefully monitoring international best practices specific to our industry shared with us by our partners such as Diversey.

Some examples of our current Covid-19 cleaning & disinfection protocols:

Employee PPE: In addition to issuing masks, and hand sanitizers, we are in the process of changing our uniforms to enhance protection. Uniforms will be individually packed and only opened prior to usage.

Employee Disinfection: Employees are disinfected prior to starting work on the floors or in an apartment.

Guest Rooms: We have implemented stringent disinfection protocols to disinfect a room after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items.

Private Residences: EPA approved chemicals and CDC protocols are used to disinfect private residences and incorporated in our general cleaning procedures.
